Frequently Asked Questions

Can I update my cocktail’s photo?

You sure can! Having a great photo of your cocktail is one of the best ways to appeal to voters and climb the ranks. It is possible to update your photo by going to your Profile but this will change it to pending approval and will therefore not be available on the website to receive votes (until approved). For that reason I recommend emailing your updated photo to info@coffeecocktails.com.au – include the cocktail name and you MUST email from the email address that you signed up with.

What is the recommended size and layout of my cocktail’s image?

You can choose your preferred layout of portrait or landscape but ensure your photo has:

  • good lighting
  • suitable framing
  • the cocktail is in focus
  • good presentation (styling, garnish, suitable glassware, etc.)
  • is your own image (or you have written permission to use it)

Here are some examples of well thought out images which have all of the above.

Remember to leave adequate space around the drink and that your drink is in the center so it will display nicely as a thumbnail. If the photo of the drink is too close or not centered, the drink will be cropped out which will most likely result in less votes for your submission.

The best way to receive more votes is by sharing a link to your cocktail on social media – Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, etc. Sharing buttons can be found below the description on each cocktail recipe.

Social Sharing

Remember, the highest weekly votes wins a prize. The 8 weekly winners will then have their cocktail recipe tasted by the Mr Black Coffee Cocktail Judging Panel and be in the running for the grand prize. The more votes your cocktail receives the higher the chance of winning both the weekly prizes and grand prize.

How many times can I vote?

You can vote for multiple cocktail recipes but CANNOT vote for one cocktail multiple times.

There are multiple procedures in place for detecting self votes, bots and spam votes. Anyone attempting to artificially inflate votes will have ALL their cocktail recipe submissions removed from the competition.
